Easter fun day
Today was a fun day. Today is the first day of spring break for my kids. Sam is 9 and in 3rd grade and Lauren is 4. We had lunch with Dad and colored Easter eggs. I forgot how much fun it is! I tried a new product this year. I try to do the traditional PAAS colors and then mix it or add to our collection something new. This year I picked up the Dudley brand of Majestic Egg colorings. This one one of the best values yet! For $1.97 at Wal-mart it was a great addition to our egg coloring tradition. The Majestic Egg kit was just that - a really cool 'majestic' look to your eggs.
I did the best I could with the photo, but hopefully you can see the marblizing and metallic look. We were all pleasantly surprised. Plus, it was very easy to use. We dyed our eggs in the traditional water and vinegar bath. I like to add vinegar because it makes the colors deeper and brighter. After dying, we let them dry. The Majestic kit had 5 packets of metallic colorings. You cut them open and dump them into these little baggies. They give the eggs a great metallic look and don't cover up the first layer of dye. The nice thing is you can just throw everything out and done! You have beautiful eggs!
I hope you have a great Easter and I would love to hear what one of your favorite Easter traditions is.
Peace...out
