Cheap, Easy, and Natural

Do you use any inexpensive, natural products for everyday uses?  In this blog, I am going to let you in on the products I use for my home and personal care.  You will be surprised what works for pennies on the dollar of man-made chemical products.  Most of these products you can find in the medicinal section of any drug store for about $2-4 per quart.

Witch Hazel - a garden shrub commonly found in eastern North America.  Its extract is used externally for many purposes as it is a natural astringent and antioxidant.

Hydrogen Perioxide - is  compound with an oxygen-oxygen single bond. It is also a strong oxidizer. Hydrogen peroxide is a clear liquid, slightly more viscous than water. Due to its oxidizing properties, hydrogen peroxide is often used as a whitening or cleaning agent.
    • Spot remover - undiluted, pour on to carpeting or clothing that you need to remove a new stain.  It is one of the main ingredients in Oxy Clean.
    • Disinfectant
    • Teeth cleaning
    • Acne treatment
    • Laundry whitener (instead of bleach)
    • Cleaning agent to help your dishwasher, mold removal, and kitchen counters
    • Food prep - wash vegetables, clean meat, marinade, and sprouting seeds
    • Microfiber - soak cloths in 1 quart of water to about 1/4 cup of perioxide to clean
Vinegar -  is a liquid consisting mainly of acetic acid and water. The acetic acid is produced by the fermentation of ethanol by acetic acid bacteria.[1] Vinegar is now mainly used as a cooking ingredient, but historically, as the most easily available mild acid, it had a great variety of industrial, medical, and domestic uses, some of which (such as a general household cleanser) are still promoted today.
